The education of your child is a partnership between the home and school. Therefore, parents and teachers who consistently work together make all the difference in the academic achievement of their child. Parents are encouraged to communicate with teachers and other school staff during Parent Engagement Time (Tuesdays), Parent Teacher Conferences or by setting up an appointment directly with the teacher or calling the Main Office.
During class time, the secretaries in the Main Office can take a message for the teacher.
Please note that the secretaries will not interrupt instructional time unless it is an emergency.
Be sure to check your child’s book bag EACH NIGHT for important school notices and information regarding upcoming events.
Be sure to sign up for Class DoJo so that you can stay up-to-date with important school activities for your child.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Citywide Parent Teacher Conferences are held four times a year. These conferences provide a great opportunity for you to talk with your child's teacher about what your child is learning at school and how you can support this learning at home. In addition, leave with a plan for continuing the conversation. Please note that Parent-Teacher Conferences take place during the months of September, November, March, and May. Your children will bring home notices alerting you to the exact dates and times of conferences. Dates will be posted on the P.S. 6X Parent Calendar, and in other written communication.
