We are excited to welcome you into our school community and look forward to growing our partnership with you as we work together in service of your child(ren), our students. Below are four important highlights of our school community that you need to know.
Spotlight on Student Attendance: We expect excellent student attendance!
Students learn best from in-person interactions with peers and adults. Ten absences correlates to over 50 hours of lost instructional time! While we understand that illness and personal situations will arise, we ask that absences be kept to a minimum and that our staff is alerted when students are not in attendance. We take student attendance very seriously and expect our students are present and learning every day. As such, our Attendance Team will be meeting with all new families to discuss attendance protocols.
Spotlight on School Uniform Policy: PS 6X is a uniform school!

Spotlight on our Fame: PS 6X is known for our greatness!
We are famous! Since our school is often celebrated and highlighted on social media and other platforms, we must have a photo consent on file for each student. Please sign the attached photo consent form and submit it as soon as possible.
Spotlight on Social Justice: PS 6X is a school for Social Justice!
As such, our students engage in lessons about equity and Social Justice every day. We are committed to teaching the skills and providing the platforms necessary for students to become agents of change. PS 6X Staff contributed to the writing of Community Agreements that were then signed as a symbol of our commitments. Below is the foreword to these agreements.
“At PS 6X, every member of our team is committed to creating a safe environment in which each and every one of our students can fully express themselves, truly feel seen and heard and learn how to advocate as they interact in the world. Our team has committed to taking action to promote racial and social justice in our school community. We have committed to this Call to Action by teaching our students about social justice concepts and safe ways to change the unfair practices that exist in the world. We are confident that by empowering our students with awareness, knowledge and advocacy skills, we can begin to change the world, making it a peaceful place for all of humanity - regardless of skin color or any other differences that exist between us. At PS 6X, we are a team and we are a family.”
